I don’t believe in hiding my age: Tabu
She’s one of those few actresses in Bollywood who continue to look ravishing in their 40s. Tabu says that she’s extremely comfortable in her skin and has no qualms sporting a no-makeup look. “During Maachis, Chandni Bar and Virasat I was fine with facing the camera without make-up. And now, I’m too bored to work out or do anything to fit into a certain image,” she says.
The 40-plus actress who has proved her mettle in all kinds of roles says that she found inspiration in her family itself. “I’ve grown up admiring Shabana (Azmi) aunty for her grace as an actor and as a person. Like her, I always focused on my craft. I never had the image of a fashionista.” Tabu who is pleased with every bit of applause that has come her way for Haider, wants to do more roles that suit her age and personality. She doesn’t want to look any younger than she is either. “I don’t believe in hiding my age. I’m not judging anyone but I’m not the sort to succumb to the trend of clinical treatments.”
