Xiaomi’s next product is a GoPro-like camera

Xiaomi has a next product, which will compete with HTC’s Re

For a while now, Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has been raising eyebrows all around the globe. Xiaomi has been catering to the masses with high-performance smartphones and tablets under the low price bracket. Competing with rivals such as iPhone, Samsung, Sony and HTC, Xiaomi has been seen rising towards the top of the smartphone manufacturers list. A recent survey stated that Xiaomi has risen to the third position of the top smartphone manufacturer position with the number of handsets been shipped out from their factory in China.

Xiaomi is not only into the smartphone manufacturing business. The four-year-old company also produces products such as routers, network storages, televisions, power banks and a few others.

New information, according to GizChina, reveals that Xiaomi is now out to compete in the standalone camera segment. The report stated that Xiaomi is all out to compete with HTC’s Re portable sports camera for almost the same price. The camera, though does not look like HTC’s Re, is similar to GoPro cameras, but is a way lot cheaper than the latter.

Xiaomi will be retailing the Mi Camera at almost $163 (999 Yuan), much lower than the GoPro, but almost similar priced as the HTC Re.

The Mi Camera is said to sport a 138-degree wide-angle lens, will shoot 4K videos @ 30 fps, and support microSD cards up to 128GB.
