Mumbai: Clichéd it may be, but some stories make you believe in ‘If there is will, there is a way’ idea. Ishita Malaviya’s is one such story. Born in Mumbai, Ishita is India’s first professional woman surfer. Ishita took to surfing after a meeting with an exchange student from Germany in 2007.

Holding a degree in journalism, Ishita finds happiness in surfing and promoting it across India. Shaka Surf Club and Camp Namaloha are some of the indicators of her passion towards the sport. She along with her high school buddy and boyfriend, Tushar Pathiyan, who studied architecture, run this surf club.
