Solar scam; Panel to probe Chief Minister’s office too
Kochi: The judicial commission probing into the solar scam has decided to look into the role of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s office in the case.
The commission has also decided to examine the call records of former home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishan who is the current forest minister.
The commission will consider the charges that the personal staff members of Mr Chandy are involved in the case and also the allegations that Mr Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan had tried to sabotage the probe initiated by the police team.
Justice G. Sivarajan passed an order on Friday in this regard and listed out the allegations levelled in the case.
The case is registered against Biju Radhakrishnan, the first accused, and Saritha S, Nair, the second accused in the case.
The state initially registered a case against Biju and Saritha as a cheating case and later it was revealed that several personal staff members of the CM had close links with Saritha and Biju. Pursuant to this, Joppan, gunman Salim Raj and Jikku Mon were removed from the personal staff. The commission will also consider the allegations raised in the Kerala Assembly. Though Opposition Leader V.S. Achuthanandan had raised several allegations in the case, he has not given any evidence or statement before the commission.
