Hetero Drugs denies all CBI charges

The company had acquired huge lands from the government is baseless

Hyderabad: The counsel for Hetero Drugs, an accused in YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s quid pro quo case asked during arguments whether the YSR government was doing real estate business to allot lands to them at throwaway prices.

The special court for CBI cases here in Nampally on Thursday was hearing the discharge petition filed by the pharma company.

The petitioner’s counsel (the company’s counsel) said the allegations of the CBI which had earlier alleged in its first charge sheet that as a quid pro quo deal, the company had acquired huge lands from the government is baseless.

The counsel asked the investigating agency whether the government was running a real estate business to allot lands at concessional rates.

The CBI alleged that as per the quid pro quo arrangement the company received 75 acres at an industrial park at the concessional rate of Rs 7 lakh an acre instead of the Rs 15 lakh approved by the price fixation committee of the APIIC.

While the AG’s audit indicated a loss of Rs 12.26 crore, the CBI said the accused had made a gain of Rs 17.20 crore.
