Minor fire near Osmania General Hospital
Hyderabad: A minor fire accident occurred opposite the Osmania General Hospital’s mortuary area at around 12 noon on Thursday.
The hospital authorities dumped some old medicines behind a closed canteen on the premises and burnt them. This resulted in the fire spreading.
The fire alert was received by the fire control room at 11:50 am and a fire engine from the Gowliguda fire station was sent to the spot.
The in-charge of the fire station, Mr M. Krishna said the loss was estimated at about Rs 15,000. Goods worth around Rs 8,000 kept in the canteen was saved from the fire.
“The small canteen had been closed since two months. There were a few mixers and grinding machines inside the place,” an official said.
A fire accident case was booked and the police is investigating. Police said that no one was injured in the fire accident.
