Hyderabad: A teenager was allegedly cheated and impregnated by her lover at Medipally. Police said the accused befriended the victim, promised to marry, and sexually exploited her. The victim who is six months pregnant asked him to marry her, but he refused and absconded.
The 19-year-old victim is a labourer and a resident of Chengicherla in Ghatkesar mandal. The accused Shiva, 22, is a mason and a resident of Boduppal. He belongs to Ongole district.
Police said that Shiva came to the city about two years ago and started working at construction sites. The victim’s father who works as a security guard at an apartment came into contact with him. Shiva promised the victim’s father that he would arrange work for her.
“He started taking her to construction sites along with him for work. Later they fell in love,” said SI Mohd. Maqbool Jani. Police said that after promising to marry her he had physical relationship with her. As a result, the victim became pregnant. When the victim asked him to marry he tried to escape.
“He said that he cannot marry her as his parents were against it. Even after repeated requests he did not come around,” said Mr Maqbool Jani.
After some days Shiva went absconding and the victim and her parents lodged a complaint at the Medipally police station on Thursday.
The police booked a cheating case under Sections 420 and 406. The accused has not been nabbed yet.
