PM Modi's security beefed up after terror threats from Pakistani jihadi outfit

This is the first direct threat to Modi since he became Prime Minister

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security is being totally revamped after a direct threat from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat Ahrar, that claimed responsibility for the recent blast on the Pakistan side of the Wagah border post.

This is the first direct threat to Mr Modi since he became Prime Minister.

TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan had tweeted: “You are the killer of hundreds of Muslims. We will take revenge (for) innocent people of Kashmir and Gujarat.”

The big challenge for the Special Protection Group’s tasked with the protection of the Prime Minister will be when Mr Modi campaigns in Jharkhand and Kashmir later this month.

Central agencies have started co-ordinating with the states for security.
