Huge rise in per capita income
Hyderabad: The per capita income of the Telangana has grown considerably over the last few years and stands at Rs 93, 151.
The national average of per capita income is lower than both the states at Rs 74,380 per annum.
Interestingly, growth of per capita income in Telangana has also been better than the national average consistently over the last decade with the exception of just one year, when it dipped drastically.
Per capita income in Telangana has grown from Rs 24,409 in 2004-05 to Rs 93,151 in 2013-14. The Socio Economic Outlook, however, cautions: “The improvement in the performance of Telangana in terms of per capita income in relation to all India per capita income is not only due to the acceleration in the aggregate GSDP growth but also due to faster deceleration in the population growth experienced by the state during the last two decades.”
