Bendgate hits Apple iPad Air 2
Bendgate! The term that has haunted Apple for a while now has returned with its new tablets, shortly after the iPad Air 2 was launched.
Flaunting the Apple Air 2 as the thinnest tablet yet, Apple did make sure it was light and sophisticated, and definitely powerful than the predecessors.
However, it seems that Apple has not been concentrating on the quality of the chassis this time. Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have reportedly shown being bent when users were a little too clumsy with the handset. The aluminium metal tends t bend at weak points, especially around the volume rocker. And since the thin aluminium chassis has a tendency to bend and stay bent, the Apple device gets its bad name.
However, the trend of Bendgate seems to haunt the new-generation Apple tablets too. Apple’s new device is super slim, built with aluminium and has the same effect. Adding to the issue is the larger surface area in which the possibility of bending is higher. So imagine if you accidentally sat on your couch with the iPad Air 2 caught between you. Disaster!
Apple should have concentrated on these areas of concern, which is more important to a user. Possibly a reinforced metal frame or a plastic body with a metal exterior could have been thought of.
Here is a video where Marvin shows how simple it is to bend an Apple iPad Air 2 with your hands. In the test, the bending takes its toll on the screen and shatters it useless. So if you are rushing in to own that new iPad, think twice if you are a bit clumsy in handling the product. You could be sorry.
