No faith in CID, order CBI probe: BJP
Hubbaalli: State BJP president Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday demanded a CBI enquiry into the death of a 14-year-old girl in Tirthahalli of Shivamogga district.
He said that Home Minister K.J. George and Shivamogga district in-charge minister and Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmane Rathnakar should step down for their failure to stop increasing incidents of rape in the state.
An impartial inquiry is not possible in the Tirthahalli murder case if the two ministers continued to stay in their posts, he said and alleged that the state government is playing vote-bank politics by trying to protect a particular community in the case.
“There are several lapses on the part of doctors and the police. We have no confidence in the CID enquiry ordered by the Chief Minister,” he said.
