Bengaluru: A 35-year-old drunk allegedly tried to molest a three-year-old girl at Mariyannanapalya in Amruthahalli police station limits on Monday. The police arrested Yedugondala, who hails from Andhra Pradesh.
The police said the accused and the girl's parents had come from Andhra Pradesh to the city about six months ago and were working as daily wage labourers. They were all staying in sheds in Mariyannanapalya. On Monday, the accused did not go to work and was consuming alcohol in his shed.
"The girl who was in the next shed was crying and the accused, who heard it, took her to his shed telling her that he would get her chocolates. He allegedly undressed the girl and tried to molest her.
Meanwhile, the girl's mother who heard the girl crying, rushed to the shed and caught the accused red handed. She raised an alarm following which other labourers caught the accused. Later, the mother filed a complaint and he was arrested," the police said.
