Hyderabad: Curbing cases of crime against women and massive community policing are the top priorities, said North Zone DCP G. Sudheer Babu. Quicker investigation of cases and building confidence in victims towards police is essential, he added.
Mr Sudheer Babu, who assumed office a couple of days ago, had earlier served as DCP for the traffic department.
“Though there may be no change in the strategies, we want to tackle women issues effectively,” he said.
He wished to increase community policing in all police stations in the zone.
“We will move forward together with the people to attain better policing. Building confidence in the victims is essential,” the DCP added.
Apart from making a people-friendly system, the DCP added welfare of cops too will be taken care of. “There are many hospitals in the zone. We want to take up medical camps for our men from time to time keeping a check on their health issues,” said Mr Babu.
