Now, a watch that turns into a drone

The Nixie enables users to film themselves from a distance
It's a new idea in wearable technology that could really "take off." The device is called Nixie and it's basically a drone that you can wear. Nixie has two modes: 'boomerang', in which it flies off, takes a pictures and returns and 'follow me', which does exactly as it says on the tin.
Think about how many times you're out doing something that you'd love photographed or videotaped. Well, instead of pulling out a camera and interrupting the moment, Nixie could go to work for you on cue. The drone wristband would be able to unfold and take flight, composing a perfect shot for you in a matter of minutes.
Afterward, it would fly back to you wherever you are, so you could catch it and stick it back on your wrist and continue you on your merry way. Team Nixie is led by Stanford University physics researcher Dr Christoph Kohstall and has just won the grand prize at Intel’s Make it Wearable Challenge.
A prototype has been developed, but don’t get too excited about the idea of having your own eye in the sky — no date has yet been set for when Nixie will be flying on to the shelves.
