Madrasa shackles truant boy
Hyderabad: A boy was tied up by the management of a madrasa for allegedly attempting to flee the institution frequently. The victim and two others who escaped on Saturday night took shelter in the fields. The incident came to light on Sunday when farmers noticed the trio and alerted the cops. The incident occurred in Vemulapalli in Nalgonda district.
Sources said that Kabir (name changed), a resident of Miryalaguda and two of his friends Salman (name changed) and Hussain (name changed), both brothers and residents of Subbareddygudem are students of the school. The victims aged between 8 and 10 were reportedly admitted in the school a week ago by their parents. Since then they had been insisting on going back to their parents. The management detained them to make them complete their studies.
On Saturday, the trio escaped from the Madrasa to go home and hid in the fields. Kabir’s hands and legs were found tied with locked chains. When the trio was asked what the shackles were for they replied that Jamal had attempted to escape from the madrasa earlier.
“The locals who saw them rescued them and alerted the madrasa management and us. The kids are stable. A case under Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act was registered against the management,” said CI M. Mahesh. The parents were informed but the culprits are yet to be arrested. The children joined the madrasa about a week ago.
