Hyderabad: In contrast to the global trend of nurturing alumni relations, the trend is still in its nascent stage in India, said Union ministry of human resource development joint secretary R.P. Sisodia, adding that the alumni-institutions relationship must have a structure to it.
Speaking at the ISB Alumni Relations Conference, ISB dean Ajit Rangnekar said that alumni-institution relationship building is a professionalised exercise globally.
Public perception of any educational institution is based on its alumni and faculties, said Mr Rangnekar.
Mr Sisodia pointed out that the “soft” contribution of the alumni in terms of name and success means much more than monetary contributions.
He said that a research on this subject ‘How an institution acquires repute and brand image?’ has revealed that the top 10 institutes in the world are 100 per cent alumni controlled’.
