Goverment plans to shift educated related department to ANU
Guntur: The Acharya Nagarjuna University will soon be the educational hub of the state since the government plans to shift the headquarters of various state departments, especially education related departments.A three-member committee on Saturday visited the ANU on Saturday as part of its efforts to finalise space for the government offices.
The panel, comprising principal finance secretary Ajay Kallam, roads and buildings principal secretary Syambabu and municipal administration secretary Sambasiva Rao has been scouting for available space to shift the administrative offices .
Mr Syambabu said that the government plans to shift several departments on a temporary basis to the state capital region. He said that the offices would be shifted to ANU without disturbing the students.
The education related offices would be shifted depending on space availability, he said. Guntur collector Kantilal Dande and ANU officials briefed the panel on the space available with the help of maps. The panel also held an in camera meeting with revenue officials and district joint collector Ch Sridhar in Guntur, and collected information on the available state-owned land and buildings in and around Guntur city.
