10 killed, 30 injured in Nepal bus collision
Poor maintenance of roads and vehicles causes many accidents in mountainous Nepal
Katmandu, Nepal: Police in Nepal say two passenger buses have collided on a key highway, killing 10 people and injuring 30 others.
The pre-dawn Saturday collision took place on the East West Highway, about 120 kilometers (75 miles) southeast of the capital, Katmandu.
Among the 30 injured, 12 are in critical condition.
Police investigating the crash say one of the drivers was believed to be speeding and lost control of the vehicle. He fled the scene.
Poor maintenance of roads and vehicles contributes to many accidents in mountainous Nepal.
Last month, 14 people died, including two Israeli tourists, when their bus veered off a mountain highway.
