Jayarajans threaten RSS leader murder probe police
Kannur: CPM top guns M.V Jayarajan, E.P Jayarajan and P Jayarajan targeted police officers, who probed RSS local leader Manoj, saying the party would mobilize its cadre, who knew quite well where the officers lived.
Addressing the SP office rally and satygraha organized by the party in Kannur on Friday, the leaders alleged that the police officers were torturing those rounded up in connection with the Manoj murder probe at the bidding of the UDF and BJP. They criticized the police officers for their alleged bias stand and reminded them of the fate of other officers, who had hunted down Communist leaders of yore.
Mr M.V Jayarajan, who named the probe officers Josey Cherian, Sojan and Vinod Kumar, said the officers were “the hatchet men, appointed to destroy the party. In the guise of investigation, they resorted to illegal activities," he said.
Mr Jayarajan told the officers that the Oommen Chandy regime would not last forever, indicating that they would be taught a lesson once CPM returned to power.
CPM Central Committee member E.P Jayarajan said that if the police tried to weaken the party mentally and physically by inflicting custodial torture on party workers, the party would resist it at any cost.
“Fielding thousands of people, the CPM would counter any attack on party,” he said. He warned them of the fate of Michael O’Dwyer, who was shot dead by Udham Singh for his role in Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Mr Jayarajan alleged that BJP leaders K Surendran and P Sreedharan Pillai were behind the murder of DYFI worker Murali in Kasargod. Congress leaders were trying to please the Centre.
“When Dr Shashi Tharoor is pleasing Narendra Modi by dangling a dead rat, Ramesh Chennithala is entertaining Rajnath Singh,” he added.
CPM District Secretary P Jayarajan, MLAs K K Narayanan, James Mathew and T.V Rajesh were also present.
