Fire guts property worth Rs 5 lakh in Saidabad
A lady left her gas knob turned on and then lit a fire
Hyderabad: Following an LPG leak, a fire broke out in Vambay Colony at Saidabad on Friday morning. Though no casualties were reported, but property worth nearly Rs 5 lakh was damaged. According to the Saidabad police, 40-year-old Abeda Begum, who lives on the third floor switched on her gas cylinder to cook. However, as she couldn’t find a matchbox, she went downstairs to purchase it leaving the LPG cylinder switched on. “When she returned and struck the match, it sparked the fire. Ms Abeda managed to rush out of the house unhurt,” said A.Srinivasulu, Saidabad inspector. As per estimates, cash, jewellery and household goods, worth about Rs 5 lakh, was gutted.
