Seema Punia will be the big name at ONGC National Athletics Championsip
New Delhi: Asian Games gold medallist Seema Punia will headline the field at the ONGC National Open Athletics Championships here, that begins on November 2. Around 1,000 entries have been received for the 54th edition of the championships, to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
Almost all the medal winners of the Incheon Asian Games, including women’s discus thrower Punia and members of the gold winning 4x400m women’s relay team have confirmed their participation for the four-day event.
Said AFI president and former Olympian Adille J. Sumariwalla, “The National Open Athletics Championships will be an exciting occasion for all the fans to witness their heroes who dazzled at the recently-concluded Asian Games.”
