APCC targets TD on loan waiver

Raghuveera accuses Naidu of encouraging factionism in district
Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee chief N. Raghuveera Reddy accused the ruling TD of pr-omoting factionism inst-ead of initiating steps to rebuild the state. Addressing the district-level meeting of the party at Arts College gr-ounds here on Thursday, Mr Raghuveera Reddy accused the TD leaders worse than pickpockets and extorting even from the government officials.
Mr Reddy observed both faction groups in the district are now working with the Telugu Desam.
Taking a dig at deletion of election manifesto from the party website, the APCC chief quipped, “Mr Chandrababu Naidu had said that he wou-ld waive crop loans and SHG loans. Now, he is waiving off all his election promises.”The PCC chief made it clear the Congress was only blamed for the state division, but the TD also had its role in the division. Referring to the pathetic position of Congress, the APCC president recalled that party had faced worst situation in 1994-2004 in Anantapur district.
“Congress had struggled even to field candidate because of series of killings of Congre-ssmen,” Mr Reddy said and hoped that the party would get strengthened from ground level with appoinment of committees. Congress leaders hop-ed that the people are now aware that Cong-ress had only taken up large number of projects and welfare schemes. Former APCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana criticised the TD government for deleting eligible beneficiaries from the pensions list and other welfare schemes at Janmabhoomi.
He said the Congress government had sanctioned the welfares schemes for the benefit of all sections.Leaders K.V.P. Rama-chandra Rao, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, J.D. Seelam and several others participated in the meeting.Party would kick start enrolment of membership drive from Friday.
