Northerly winds bring down temperatures

Telangana districts have been recording temperatures between 13ºC and 18ºC
Hyderabad: Winds sweeping in from the north are cooling Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad recorded 16ºC on Thursday morning, while Adilabad was the coldest on Wednesday at 13.7ºC.
In general, the Telangana districts have been recording temperatures between 13ºC and 18ºC. The clear skies are also causing the mercury to dip, IMD scientist K. Seetharam said.
There is a chance that the city could record 8ºC towards December. The lowest temperature in recorded history in Hyderabad was 7.1ºC in December 1996.
In Rayalaseema, temperatures hovered between 19ºC and 23ºC.
Visakhapatnam recorded the highest minimum of around 24ºC after Cyclone Hudhud earlier this month. The Agency areas in Vizag district on the other hand were the coldest in both states. Chintapalli recorded 10ºC on Wednesday. This temperature is usually seen in December, weather officials said, but the winter had been advanced by the Northeast monsoon and other climatic conditions.
The day temperatures ranged between 29ºC and 34ºC across AP and TS except in Rentachintala of Guntur district which recorded about 36ºC.
Owing to the active northeast monsoon, light to some areas in south coastal AP and Rayalseema could get rain. Dry weather would prevail over north coastal AP and TS.
Even after the huge precipitation and cyclone, AP still faces a deficit seasonal rainfall of 25 per cent, while it was 52 per cent up to Wednesday in TS, according to the Met department.
