Maharashtra chief minister-designate Devendra Fadnavis meets Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari
New Delhi: Maharashtra chief minister-designate Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari at his residence here.
The newly-elected leader of BJP Legislature Party in Maharashtra flew in to the national capital from Mumbai to pay his respects to the party's top leadership and thank them for reposing faith in him to steer the new state government.

Fadnavis, who hails from Nagpur which is also the hometown of Gadkari, drove straight from the airport to the Union Minister's residence on Motilal Nehru Marg where he was warmly greeted. They also shared some thoughts on the future course of action in Maharashtra.
He is also slated to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah later in the day.
Fadnavis, who shares a good rapport with the RSS, was on Tuesday elected as leader of the BJP Legislature Party with all 122 newly elected MLAs reposing faith in his leadership.
His swearing-in ceremony will be held at a grand function in Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Friday that will be attended by some 40,000 guests.
The Prime Minister, several of his Cabinet colleagues, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states, besides business leaders, actors and celebrities will be in attendance at the oath-taking ceremony.
