Sensex hits record high; tech, realty stocks gain
Sensex reaches 27,305.53-mark on Thursday
Mumbai: The BSE Sensex hit a record high on Thursday with exporters leading the gains on the U.S. Federal Reserve's optimism about US economic recovery, The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 0.77 per cent 27,305.53 at 1:05 p.m. after hitting a record of 27,358.85. The broader Nifty rose 0.75 percent.
Infosys was up 2.3 per cent while Dr.Reddy's Laboratories gained 1.5 per cent. Realty shares rose after the government relaxed rules for foreign investment in construction.
DLF gained 3.9 per cent, Sobha Developers was up 2.3 percent. A lower-than-expected increase in wheat support prices also aided sentiment.
