'Hawaa Hawaai' wins best film at Schlingel Film Festival Germany

There were 136 films from 40 countries competing for the award

Mumbai: Bollywood film ‘Hawaa Hawaai’ has won the top award for Best Film at the 19th Schlingel Film Festival Oct, 2014 in Chemnitz, Germany in the junior film category. There was a total of 136 films from 40 countries competing for the award.
The Amol Gupte-directed film featured his son Partho and actor Saquib Salim in the lead roles. Saqib played the role of a skating coach to Partho's character. The film was a hit among youngsters and was received very well by the critics.
On wining the prestigious award director Amole Gupte said, "I am so thankful to this learned jury for recognising the art and the intent in the making of Hawaa hawaai. This top honour puts the film on a very special shelf of cinema."
