K Chandrasekhar Rao to dangle sops to businessman at dinner meet
Hyderabad: Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will attend a dinner meeting with the top bosses of Bank of America, E.I. DuPont India, Textron India, Lockheed Martin, IBM, GE India and others in Hyderabad on November 26.
The executives will be in the city in connection with the meeting of the National Executive Board of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM).
Meanwhile, sources said the Chief Minister, who agreed to participate in the AMCHAM meet in the city, will project business opportunities in Telangana, highlight the proposed new industrial policy, including the single window scheme, talk about the ongoing power crisis and steps taken to overcome the same, including the government’s three-year power plan among others.
“We will request heads of the companies to set up base in and around Hyderabad if they don’t have one and take up expansion plans if they do,” a senior official said.
AMCHAM chairman Y. Madan Mohan and vice-president Kiranmai Pendyala called on Mr Rao at the Secretariat and requested him to interact with the AMCHAM members to which he agreed.
In another development, special chief secretary of industries and commerce K. Pradeep Chandra met chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra Anand Mahindra in Mumbai in connection with investment proposals in Telangana. Mr Mahindra had met Mr Rao recently and had promised to invest in the new state.
