CM K Chandrashekar Rao blamed for crisis
Hyderabad: The day-long Maha Dharna, organised by former Congress minister D.K. Aruna at Mahbubnagar on Monday, agai-nst the TRS government’s alleged anti-farmer activities, ended with the police arresting several Congress leaders.
Several top-rung leaders, including former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy, TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council D. Srinivas, TPCC working president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, senior MP V. Hanumantha Rao and legislators attended the Maha Dharna programme in front of the Mahbubnagar Transco office.
They criticised the Telangana Chief Minister for his lack of foresight and failure to wake up from deep slumber in taking steps to provide eight-hour power supply to the agriculture sector as promised.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Lakshmaiah said that till date, 323 farmers had committed suicide in the newly formed state just because of Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao’s failures.
Mr Jaipal Reddy, meanwhile, praised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his timely intervention in the power crisis and for buying power from other states and said that such foresight was clearly lacking in the Telangana Chief Minister.
The former Union minister said that after winning the election, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had continued his unique art of fooling people with his sweet talk and a bundle of lies and this had only aggravated the power crisis in Telangana.
