Chandrababu Naidu irritates, KCR tells Governor ESL Narasimhan
Governor had asked Rao if he had any objection to have a one-on-one meeting with Naidu
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has agreed to meet his AP counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu once again in the presence of the Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to thrash out contentious issues concerning the two states.
The Governor had reportedly asked Mr Rao on Sunday if he had any objection to have a one-on-one meeting with Mr Naidu.
While Mr Rao said he had no objections, he complained to the Governor that Mr Naidu was not implementing the decisions arrived at during previous meetings. “I am only interested in my state’s development. I am not poking my nose into AP affairs like Naidu, who has been meddling in Telangana affairs,” he told the Governor.
Mr Narasimhan said that he would speak with Mr Naidu and arrange a meeting. During their two-and-a-half-hour meeting, he reportedly pointed out his outburst against Mr Naidu at a media conference two days ago, where he called him “shaitan”, “cheat”, “liar”, “ditcher” etc.
“I watched your media conference live,” he said in a lighter vein. “You have used all sorts of abuses.”
To this, Mr Rao said: “There is a limit to my tolerance. Yes I did abuse him, his actions frustrated me. I only commented out of frustration and irritation.”
Mr Rao gave him a detailed explanation. “Sir, what can I do? I have never interfered in his state’s affairs, but he has made it a habit of interfering in all our affairs. He is not fair. Since the formation of Telangana, even before, he started the game of causing hardships. He is bent upon causing injustice; everyone knew that we are not a power surplus state but still we have to save standing crops. Despite knowing this, he created trouble,” Mr Rao said.
