Hyderabad: Infant girl found in bush
Baby safe, under treatment at Niloufer Hospital
Hyderabad: Another infant girl was found abandoned in the bushes at Boduppal on Monday morning. However, the timely intervention of locals saved the baby’s life and the infant is now being treated at Niloufer Hospital.
The infant was found near the Saibaba temple in Buddhanagar by a family in the area. The police suspects that the baby was born just a few hours ago and the mother had fled leaving the baby in the bushes.
On Sunday, a dead infant girl was found in a washroom of Gandhi Hospital. A local resident named P. Vijaya and her Husband Pulla Reddy found the baby girl at around 6 am.
“We heard the baby crying, and we searched the area. We found the infant in the bushes near the temple,” the couple told the police. A police team reached the spot and informed Childline officials.
“Childline officials rushed her to Niloufer Hospital as there were chances of the baby getting infected as she was lying exposed in the bushes. By evening, the doctors said she is healthy,” said inspector Ravi Kiran Reddy.
Police suspect that the mother must have abandoned the baby since it was a girl or it must have been an unwanted pregnancy.
“We have inquired in the area and nearby hospitals to get details of the mother. It seems that the delivery did not take place in hospital,” said the inspector.
The police suspects that the woman must have delivered the baby in the open. The police has booked a case.
