Top names for India masters golf tourney
Indian challenge will be led by S.S.P. Chowrasia
New Delhi: Some of the promising international names including Ireland’s Niall Turner and American Brett Munson will be part of the stellar field in the inaugural Take Solutions India Masters to be held at the Eagleton Golf Resort in Bengaluru, from Wednesday.Besides Turner and Munson, who are placed third and fourth respectively on the current Asian Development Tour Order of Merit list, the international presence will also include Lindsay Renolds of Canada in the $70,000 event.
Renolds was in the same team along with PGA Tour player Dustin Johnson for three years at the Coastal Carolina University.The Indian challenge will be led by two-time European Tour winner S.S.P. Chowrasia, Asian Development Tour regular Shubhankar Sharma and Khalin Joshi, who won his maiden title at the Noida Golf Course last week, besides local lad S. Chikkarangappa in the field of 100.
The tournament will raise the 2014 Asian Development Tour schedule to an unprecedented 21 tournaments. With only three events left to play on the Tour this season, players will have everything to play for as the top-five finishers on the Order of Merit at the end of the season will earn Asian Tour cards for 2015.
