Hosts manage 1-1 draw against team from south, Sahni and Hume among goals

Kolkata: Atletico De Kolkata (ATK) failed to take a leaf out of their previous performance and finished with a 1-1 draw against Kerala Blasters FC (KBFC) at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Sunday. The opener was scored by Indian Baljit Sahni, Kerala's equaliser came from Iain Hume. The battle, termed as competition between former cricketers Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar - the co-owners of ATK and KBFC respectively - saw competitive football but was marred by injuries towards the end.

Here's what happened:
6: Sahni asking questions, down the right flank, but Kerala defenders are at their best. Even their midfield looks compressed.
13: Jofre's pass finds Arnal but the latter runs offside.
20: YELLOW CARD for Raphael Romey of KBFC.
22: GOAL for ATK. Baljit Sahni scores. Jofre sends across a swift cross, Cavin Lobo leaves it for Borja, who offers it to Sahni.
28: Jofre still looking for a finish, Arnal gets at it, he is blocked by Hengbart
30: Corner for KBFC, Mehtab Hossain takes corner but no danger. Ball cleared.
35: Jofre has a shot on target. But blocked by the Kerala defender. The ball goes out for a corner. No set piece.
41: GOAL for KBFC. Ian Hume. Kerala equalises. Not one of the greatest goals but a wake-up call for the home team who might have underestimated KBFC. Milagres Gonzalves back flicks and the Canadian taps the ball inside.

52: Jofre once again, supplies a brilliant ball to Baljit Sahni whose shot hits the crossbar.
56: Gurwinder and Nato in an aerial challenge, both down complaining injuries.
63: YELLOW CARD for Sahni. He tackles Jingham from behind.
66: SUBSTITUTION; Cavin makes way for Rakesh Masih
69: THE ATK players look for spaces but Kerala defenders are all around, Masih becomes ambitious and shoots down the ground, goes off target.
73: YELLOW CARD for Iain Hume. He puts his arm around Sahni's shoulder while the latter was on a counter-attack.
75: SUBSTITUTION; Renedy Singh comes in for Romey.
76: YELLOW CARD for Masih for a raising his hand on Jinghan's face, while on an aerial challenge.
79: SUBSTITUTION; Andrew Barisic comes out, Gonzalves goes. Second substitution for the team from south India.
84: Hossain out of pitch for some minutes after a head clash. He changes his blood-stained shirt and returns with a bandage on his head.
86: Sandesh Jinghan suffers cramps, the stretcher takes him out. SUBSTITUTION; Saumik Dey comes out in his place.

94: Open play, David James injures himself after heading off Sahni. The ball reaches Jofre who mistimes his shot. That was ATK's last chance.
