After an initial lull, the police were forced to act following public outrage over the Yuva Morcha attack. The city police commissioner had given special instruction to arrest all the accused at the earliest. The Kerala Vyapari-Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi has also demanded strong action against the attackers.

The police said the private channel that carried the clippings of the couples kissing at the restaurant had sent messages to the phones of police officials around 3 a.m. on Thursday requesting them to watch their channel at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Thursday, hinting at a possible conspiracy.
