Orchids not to reopen tomorrow: DPI chief
Bengaluru: Department of Public Instruction (DPI) commissioner Mohmed Mohsin has made it clear that DPI has not taken any decision to allow Orchids school to resume classes from Monday.
After a meeting between police, school management and parents Mr Mohsin told reporters that the DPI has directed the school to furnish reply on the show-cause notice issued by the department. We will take a decision only after that.
Meanwhile parents of the school students have decided to hold a dharna in front of school on Sunday demanding immediate reopening of all the classes.
Hundreds of angry parents who attended a meeting with police and Orchids school management questioned how DPI officials allowed a school to operate without getting recognition, thereby putting the future of students in jeopardy.
According to sources, parents frequently raised many questions on safety measures and recognition related issues. They also sought answers from DPI officials, who were attended the meeting. Meanwhile DPI is expected to take final decision on the reopening of pre nursery, nursery, STD VI and VII classes on Monday.
