Hyderabad: In a setback for the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments, the Centre on Saturday sought some more time to complete distribution of All India Service (AIS) officers without specifying any time frame.
However, Union minister of state for personnel Jitendra Singh later clarified that they are trying to complete the allocation process within 15 days following the serious concerns raised by both the governments.
Official sources said that the allocation list issued on October 10 will be final and over 95 per cent officials will get final allotment based on that and orders to this effect will be issued soon.
The Centre has agreed to consider the objections raised by remaining five per cent officers on health and spouse grounds and their allotment will be changed accordingly.
Mr Jitendra Singh claimed that the allocation process was getting delayed because they want all the officers to remain satisfied with their allotment to either TS or AP and were following transparent procedures to achieve this goal.
He said there was no delay in allotments as anticipated since the Centre is mandated to complete the process before the deadline of June 2, 2015. “We will complete the process much before the deadline.
We are already far ahead of the deadline by completing provisional allotment. We plan to complete the final allotment within 15 days,” he added.
