Samsung Galaxy to get Android Lollipop in December

Android Lollipop v5.0 is the biggest update after Android v4.0

Lollipop is the biggest update that comes to Android after v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat. Android Lollipop was announced as Android L at the Google IO event and finally rolled out the final version (Lollipop) in October along with the Nexus smartphone and tablet.

Android Lollipop is the most-awaited mobile platform by Google fans and it will be a completely different experience as compared to the previous versions of Android.

With Motorola and the Nexus devices to be the first ones to acquire the Lollipop update, Android One devices will be next after that.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will also be getting the Android Lollipop update in a months time. SamMobile reported that the Lollipop update will be made available to Samsung Galaxy S5 in December. However, the exact time frame has not been mentioned, but depending on different regions, Samsung would roll out the new update to all devices with around a months period.

Android Lollipop brings with it a brand new user interface, which includes Material Design, apart from new features such as lockscreen notifications, multi-user support, 64-bit compatibility support, and a lot more. The new operating system platform will also increase the performance with ART runtime, a better battery life and better background task management.
