N Chandrababu Naidu is harming Telangana interests: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Making AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu responsible for the injustice done to Telangana since the bifurcation of AP, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said, “Chandrababu is shamelessly continuing to do injustice to the region since bifurcation of state.”
He alleged that Mr Ashok Hinduja, one of the promoters of the Vizag Hinduja plant, which will be soon commissioning its unit, was being blackmailed by Mr Naidu to not share power to Telangana. “This was told to me by Mr Ashok Hinduja himself, is it not blackmailing?” Mr Rao asked.
He accused Mr Naidu as being a cheat and a deceiver of AP farmers and DWCRA women’s’ groups and reminded that the same Naidu had promised complete waiver of loans obtained by farmers and DWCRA women groups but was doing nothing even after four months in power.
“I am going to expose him from tomorrow, how he made promises and how he is deceiving them now,” he added. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said that it had been Mr Naidu, during his tenure as chief minister earlier, who had brought out a GO in 1996 for allowing Minimum Draw Down Level (MDDL) of Srisailam at 834 ft for generating power and in the same year the AP government went below the MDDL and generated power even up to 770 ft.
When the YSR government enhanced the MDDL from 834 to 854 ft in 2004, the same Mr Chandrababu Naidu, along with TD MLAs Mr Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao (present minister in AP) and Mr Dhulipala Narendra had staged a dharna at Prakasam barrage near Vijayawada against the 854 ft MDDL and had even said in 2004 that MDDL should be maintained at 834 ft level only to save Krishna Delta.
“When these were facts, how can Chandrababu now rely upon 854 ft MDDL and talk irrelevant rubbish?” the CM asked.
The Telangana chief minister also said that since bifurcation, the AP government, instead of supplying 53.85 per cent of power generated to Telangana as per the AP Reorganisation Act, had violated it and never supplied Telangana its due share.
Referring to the Southern Load Dispatch Centre, Central Electricity Authority and even AP Electricity Regulatory Commission’s orders, asking the residuary AP to stick to the power sharing agreements and against unilateral cancellation of Power Purchase Agreements, Mr Naidu was shamelessly denying Telangana’s share and causing hardships to the newly born state.
“When these are the facts, Chandrababu is shamelessly spreading falsehood, I am warning him not to do it, there is a lot more in store to tell about Naidu, we will expose him from tomorrow,” KCR said.
