CM K Chandrasekhar Rao ready to hear MLAs on postings

Mr Rao will decide postings of collectors, joint collectors, SPs and other senior officials

Hyderabad: Relenting from his rigid stand, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao decided to keep legislators in good humour by giving them a say in the postings of officials in their constituencies.

Mr Rao will decide postings of collectors, joint collectors, SPs and other senior officials, and legislators can now suggest lower level officials of their choice to the concerned district minister or bring him to his notice if needed.

He had been repeatedly saying no official should be transferred within a span of three years and discouraged legislators’ recommendations for transfer of officials, which irked them.

Following a spate of requests from legislators, the Chief Minister relented and asked them to suggest names of go-od officers for postings in the respective constituencies from November 1 so that the process of transfers could be completed in a span of 15 days.

The Chief Minister held meetings with legislators from all the 10 districts and heard their grievances, and issues in their respective districts and promised to take up the same on priority. He told them that the constituency development fund, which was increased from Rs 1 crore to Rs 1.5 crore, would be released in March.

“So far, you have earned a good name. Keep it up. Neither government nor legislators have been accused of indulging in corrupt practices till date. Let us maintain the good name,” Chief Minister reportedly told the legislators at the legislature party meeting.

Assuring to involve legislators in the developmental and welfare activities, the Chief Minister said the government would fulfil all the electoral promises come what may.

During his interaction with legislators district wise, the Chief Minister patiently heard their grievances, and problems in their respective constituencies, pending projects and the present situation, both on administrative matters and political issues.

During his interaction with legislators and MPs from Mahbubnagar district, the Chief Minister promised to speed up pending irrigation projects like Kalwakurthy, Nettampadu, Koilasagar and promised to release Rs 800 crore soon and ensure irrigation for 6.5 lakh acres.

He also talked about the government’s decision to provide 20 lakh solar agricultural pump sets to farmers in tie-up with a private company soon. Mahbubnagar legislators and MPs sought a multi-speciality hospital on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

He also interacted with legislators and MPs from Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Khammam, Adilabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad.
