Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year party in Dubai was a hit!

And keeping up the whole ‘united’ tag, Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and Farah flew out of Mumbai in a private charter on Wednesday.

As for the venue, it wasn’t some multiplex but the biggest ballroom in Atlantis The Palm, which was converted to host VIPs flown in from across the world.

A guest revealed, “The size of the screen was four times bigger than the size of a screen in a movie hall. It was one of the best set up I have ever seen.”

As for the installation of sound in the ballroom, Shah Rukh’s team had made arrangements for a special sound system for the big day. The team wanted to make sure that the film which boasts of great visuals shouldn’t be compromised by poor sound quality.

For the red carpet, meanwhile, Shah Rukh’s trusted, Naresh Rohira designed the suits for the male actors black in colour with a dash of bronze around the shoulder.

“Among guests, Lalit Modi flew in from London and there were a few friends of the Khan family too. The event began on time and got over by midnight. “Shah Rukh and team went on the stage and personally welcomed all guests before the film began,” a source said.

But for team HNY, the fun began after the screening was over when the after-party started. “Few hours before sunrise, just when we thought the event was about to wrap up, it was announced that the after-party has been shifted to SRK’s suite which was around 20,000 sft,” said a source.

Only select guests were invited and Shah Rukh and Gauri, made sure everyone had fun.

Meanwhile, return tickets of guests were booked for Thursday morning, to fly back to Mumbai. But since almost everyone wanted to party more, all of them cancelled their return tickets pushing the trip back to the second half of the day.

Also, all assistant directors and crew, along with other people from the filmmaking team were also in Dubai for the premiere. Irshad Kamil, Mayur Puri, Jackie Shroff and music director Vishal-Shekhar also attended the premiere. Boman Irani and Sonu Sood had their wives by their side on the red carpet.
