ISL GOA vs ATK: Lobo's stunner powers Atletico de Kolkata to another win
Goa: Virat Kohli co-owned home team FC Goa (GOA) squandered lead to lose against Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) at the Fatorda Stadium on Thursday.
Here is how the action unfolded.
4: Robert Pires won a free-kick for the home team, FC Goa. Andre Santos did a fine job to deliver it beautifully. But FC Goa could not score the goal.
11: Yellow Card! Borja Fernandez got yellow after a horrific foul of FC Goa’s Andre Santos bang in the middle of the field.
21: GOAL! Santos it had to be. He did a fine job with a free-lick earlier. But this time his luck smiled on him. He zoomed into the box and smashed a left-footer into the net.
36: On target but Atletico de Kolkata could not score an equaliser. Cavin Lobo shot from 30 yards away but FC Goa’s goalkeeper Seda had no trouble keeping the ball away from the net.
45 + 2: Nasty stuff! Gregory and Fikru had a go at eachother and Gregory ended up with a bloody face. Unsavoury end to the first half. Quite a few from either team too get involved in the fight. But the situation could have got worse, had the majority of players not kept their cool.
Half-time: FC Goa 1 - Atletico de Kolkata 0.
46: Gregory started the second half with a tape on his eyebrow. Fikru too was in the middle. What both of them need to do, is to keep their calm. The match does not need another flare-up.
59: Santos continued to grab eye-balls. Gaol, a yellow-card and now a superb through ball. But no goal.
62: Lucky escape! Atletico de Kolkata goalkeeper Edel made a hash of it. Almost. He could not save a shot from Gabriel on the first attempt. The ball hit the goal post but luckily for Edel, did not go inside the net.
72: GOAL! The visitors netted an equaliser. Cavin Lobo cashed in wonderfully on Fikru’s well-timed flick.
84: GOAL! A cracker of a goal! It was Lobo again. A long ball bounced back from the FC Goa defender and then Lobo smashed one to disturb home team’s mood and put Atletico de Kolkata in a lead.
