We will rebuild Vizag: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu
Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that cyclone Hudhud will not have a lasting impact on the brand image of Vizag city and we will rebuild the city in more resilient manner and much more beautiful with the strong support of union government.
Addressing a gathering on the Beach Road after participating in a candle light rally with the theme of “Lets win Cyclone” from Pandura-ngapuram to Kalimatha temple to instill confidence among Vizagites, Mr Naidu said cyclone Hudhud devastated entire Vizag city. But, Telugu Desam, with the support and cooperation from Narendra Modi-led BJP government will rebuild the city on lines with the future needs and make it a smart city as Mr Modi has assured that Vizag will be developed as smart city that is strong enough to withstand such natural calamities.
“The support and strong stand of Vizagites in the difficult times doubled my confidence level and our government would definitely fulfill the strong desire of Vizagites (to make Vizag a financial and industrial hub and smart city) said Mr Naidu with an emotional touch. Some of the problems such as total power restoration and a few others in the city are yet to be solved.
However, people have gained confidence that all problems will be solved soon, Mr Naidu added.
Lauding the officials of various departments for their efforts to restore normalcy in Vizag within a short period, Mr Naidu said they will be holding another meeting on October 12, 2015 (exactly a year after cyclone Hudhud) on beach road to review the progress of Vizag. The Chief Minister appealed Vizagites and officials to continue the support till Vizag is rebuilt.
“I am saluting Vizagites for their brave heart and much self-confidence even after the cyclone Hudhud blasted the entire city.” These were the words of union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu while addressing the gathering. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was all praise for the people of the city and he had reiterated his commitment to deve-loping it into a smart city, he added. Several ministers, MLAs, MPs and thousands of Vizagites took part in the candle light rally.
