Abhishek Bachchan, the co-owner of Chennaiyin FC, was visibly thrilled during the first ISL match in the city, where the home team beat visitors Kerala Blasters, 2-1. And witnessing his son’s success as a sports team owner was proud dad Amitabh Bachchan. During half time, father and son, walked around the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and waved to the crowds, sending them into a tizzy.
In a quick chat, Abhishek revealed that wife Aishwarya Rai would soon visit the city for one of the upcoming matches. “Ash will come for one of the games,” he said.
When asked if Aaradhya, his toddler, was showing an affinity for sports, the doting dad laughed, saying, “She is only three. Let her grow up. I’m sure she will enjoy sports. She is my daughter after all!” AB Jr also added that like him, she is not a troublesome child at all.
Despite Chennai’s reputation as a cricket-loving city, the support for the home team Chennaiyin FC has been tremendous. Spectators filled up more than half the stadium, and people were thrilled to see the Big B wave out to them. Also present at the game was Rajinikanth, who was seen bonding with his buddy Amitabh. The two superstars have been friends since they did films together almost two decades ago.
