Rajiv Pratap Rudy put in charge of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh affairs
Chennai: The BJP’s newly appointed national president and master strategist Amit Shah’s trusted lieutenant in the Maharashtra elections, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, has been made in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh affairs, replacing national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao.
Rudy, who, as Maharashtra’s general secretary, had meticulously planned over 700 meetings and worked for the party’s handsome victory, is expected to ‘pilot’ the TN BJP to success in the 2016 Assembly election. A commercial pilot licence holder, Rajiv Pratap Rudy needs more than just piloting competence in making the state unit deliver the goods in the elections.
He is among Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream team and along with state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union minister of state for information and broadcasting Prakesh Javadekar had worked for the success of the BJP in the recent Lok Sabha election. He had campaigned for Dr Tamilisai during the 2006 Assembly election in Radhapuram Assembly constituency.
“He does not take things for granted and believes more in field work. His zeal in improving the party and strategy too would help the party emerge as an alternative to the Dravidian majors,” a senior leader said.
