Virtual queue booking open for Sabarimala pilgrims
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the Sabarimala pilgrimage season commencing on November 16, the state police have started booking for virtual queue, a system to ensure hassle-free darshan for devotees at the hill shrine.
The virtual queue system introduced in 2011 as part of crowd control measures has been welcomed by the pilgrims and several lakhs have made use of it since then. The online queue booking system for the current season began on October 17 and already hundreds of pilgrims have made use of the free service.
Pilgrims can book their turn through online by registering at www.sabarimalaq.com with details like number of devotees. The darshan time could be either opted or would be allotted automatically by the system depending upon availability. Once the registration is done, a coupon will be produced mentioning the time slot allotted for darshan.
Devotees will have to produce the coupon at Pampa virtual queue verification counter and get an entry card. They should carry their photo identity cards for verification and only those who are prompt on time can avail of this facility.
With the entry card, devotees can reach Sannidhanam Nadapanthal without entering into the conventional queue from Marakoottam. Pilgrims without virtual queue coupon can also have darshan through the conventional queue.
Clarifications on virtual queue system would be available over phone numbers : 0471-3243000, 3244000 or 3245000.
