Hyderabad: A CBI team trapped a deputy commissioner of income-tax, for allegedly taking bribe.
Jaiprakash of Karimnagar Zone was allegedly caught red-handed when taking Rs 23 lakh from the auditor of a trader, CBI sources said. I-T inspector Ramu and auditor Shivakumar were also arrested. Jaiprakash was from Karimnagar zone had earlier demanded 25 lakhs from the man named Mr. Booma Goud for doing an official favour on 16th of this month.
“Mr. Goud had already given 2 lakh rupees to the Deputy Commissioner through his Inspector,” said CBI sources.
The Deputy Commissioner and Inspector had also visited Goud’s place to demand the bribe.
