Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu slams police over smugglers
He reprimanded officials and the police for their poor handling of the red sanders smugglers
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reprimanded officials and the police for their poor handling of the red sanders smugglers. Mr Naidu reviewed revenue generation with officials at the Secretariat on Monday.
He said, “Smugglers are getting the upper hand. The police is booking weak cases against them.” He warned officials against conspiring with the smugglers. The CM added that the state government is waiting for permissions from the Centre to auction seized red sanders within a few days.
Mr Naidu also assured that normalcy would be restored in North AP by October 22. He added that all arrangements had been made to supply essential commodities to people in North AP. The CM promised that Vizag will be developed as a “dynamic city”, while emhpasising that there will be no danger to the IT industry.
Mr Naidu announced ex-gratia of '2 lakh for the families of every victim who perished in the firecracker unit blast on Monday. He said an inquiry will be initiated into the incident.
