Hyderabad areas suffer big water cut
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) was flooded with complaints of low pressure and inadequate water supply. These complaints were mainly reported from Alwal, Balanagar, Ma-lakpet, Sultan Bazaar, Old Mallepally, Kach-eguda, Erragadda, Miy-apur, Alkapuri and other areas.
A. Venkatamma, resident of Bapunagar Chintal said, “Firstly, the water supply shuts down within an hour and the low pressure results in inadequate water storage. This is not sufficient for the next three days,”
T. Ramana Rao, of Raju Colony, Balangar, says, “Every time we lodge a complaint with the HMWS&SB, the officials say they will resolve the issue soon. But, it continues to remain the same.”
A resident of Yellammabanda said “We are completely dependent on the water supplied by HMWSS&B But, sadly we have been receiving water just once in 15 days for less than an hour. When we are paying our monthly bills like other consumers why is water supplied just twice in a month.”
Water board’s executive director M. Satyanarayana, said, “We would redress the complaints soon. We have instructed the concerned GMs to attend to all the complaints immediately and send the Action Taken Reports to the Head office.”
