State silent on scheme for Andhra Pradesh students in Telangana
Hyderabad: Students seeking fee reimbursement from the Andhra Pradesh government will have to provide details if their parents own any four-wheelers apart from Aadhaar and PAN cards. Only students who are ‘local’ to the state, as per the Presidential Order, will be covered by the scheme. The government also said that income, caste and nativity certificates will have to be obtained freshly to apply for the scheme.
Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday released guidelines for the fee reimbursement scheme. An income limit of Rs 2 lakh per annum has also been set for the availing the scheme.
Fee reimbursement will be provided to local students of Andhra Pradesh, irrespective of the course in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh. However, the guidelines are silent on the issue of the Andhra students ‘local’ to Telangana as per the Presidential Order. The government had vowed to pay for Andhra students who are ‘local’ to Telangana since they would be eliminated under Telangana’s FAST scheme. But there is no mention of it.
