CM Siddaramaiah to chair a meeting on Karnataka border row
Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to brain-storm with former chief justices of the Supreme Court and Karnataka High Court and retired judges of both these courts here on Monday on how to present the state’s case to the court commissioner appointed by the apex court on Karnataka’s border dispute with Maharashtra.
Monday’s interaction would be the second within a week, the first being a meeting of Mr. Siddaramaiah with legal experts, litterateurs, writers and senior politicians on the same issue last week.
Former chief justice of India Mr. Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah, former judge of the apex court Justice N. Santosh Hegde, besides and former chief justices V.S. Malimath, Rama Jois and S.R. Naik are scheduled to attend the meeting along with Chairman of border dispute committee Justice S.R. Ramakrishna and Advocate General Ravivarma Kumar.
On September 12, the Supreme Court appointed Justice Manmohan Sarin as the court commissioner to hear claims, opinions, and witnesses on the border dispute.
