BJP all set to celebrate poll victory
Mumbai: The BJP has started preparing for the Assembly election results on October 19 in much the same way as it did for the Lok Sabha poll results.
Central leaders such as party national president Amit Shah have been invited to Mumbai for celebrations while a parliamentary board meeting has been called in Delhi for appointing observers to understand the mood of newly-elected legislators for the chief ministerial post.
The party has booked an open plot of the Public Works Department (PWD) adjoining its headquarters at Nariman Point where 14-odd cubicles have been created especially for news channels so that party leaders don’t have to visit channel offices for reactions.
Party spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said, “Our battery of spokespersons will be available at the location throughout the day, making it convenient for news channels and the media while our office has enough space for the print media.”

According to sources, similar preparations had been made at the time of the Lok Sabha polls. A party leader who did not wish to be named said, “Cubicles were made for news channels at party headquarters in New Delhi for the general election results.”
He informed that Mr Shah and Union ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Ananth Kumar along with senior leaders Rajiv Pratap Rudy and O.P. Mathur had been invited to Mumbai. However, the party was yet to get a confirmation from Mr Shah and Mr Naidu as Haryana Assembly election results are also to be announced the same day.
A senior leader, on condition of anonymity, said, “We are expecting a full majority this time just like the general polls and keeping this in mind, the preparations have been made.”
However, unlike the general elections, no sweets or laddoos have been ordered by the party.
